Lee Oleson was born in Connecticut, his father Scandinavian, his mother French-Canadian. By the time he was seven his family had moved to Ohio, then Maryland, then to Carmel, California, where he grew up. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in dramatic art and participating in the Free Speech Movement. He has worked as a newspaper reporter in Massachusetts and Tennessee and worked at a variety of jobs, mostly industrial jobs, around the country, all the time a political activist. He has published eight stories, including “Twenty-First Century City” and “The Move Out” this year.
